• Profile Hugo Carvajal, the custodian of the secrets of Chavismo

The

Third Criminal Section

of the National High Court has provisionally suspended the delivery of Hugo

El Pollo

Carvajal to the

United States

.

Judges Alfonso Guevara, Carlos Fraile and María Teresa García, have agreed for the moment to paralyze the extradition of the former head of the Venezuelan Military Intelligence, accused by the US authorities of hatching a plan to "flood the United States with cocaine in collaboration with the Colombian guerrilla of the FARC.

The resolution indicates that "the materialization of the delivery is suspended" until the Ministry of the Interior reports on the asylum request that Carvajal made in 2019 and emphasizes that it cannot resolve until this point is known.

It should be remembered that 'El Pollo' Carvajal was arrested last week in Madrid after fleeing two years ago after the National Court admitted the extradition request of the American authorities.

The DEA (Agency dependent on the US Department of Justice in charge of the fight against drug trafficking) informed the National Police of the exact location where Carvajal was hidden.

The former Chavista leader remained hidden in a flat on Madrid's Torrelaguna street from which he did not leave at all.

Both the UDYCO (Police Unit against Organized Crime) and the DEA maintain that Carvajal has recently undergone cosmetic surgery and that he camouflaged himself using disguises.
