During the period 2017-2021, 25 shootings took place in Halmstad, half of which took place in Andersberg and the nearest neighboring areas Gustavsfält and Linehed.
The area police in Halmstad has for about three years worked in a relationship focused on children and young people in Andersberg to counteract the spiral of violence.
- We work relationally, go out to the area's schools, squares and walk around to talk to people but especially children and young people, says Joachim Rolf from the area police.
Increased confidence in the police
For half an evening, the SVT team accompanies the area police when they visit Andersberg and talk to residents.
Among other things, societal issues are discussed with young people from the area, they talk to parents and hand out stickers to children.
- I think we have created much better relationships with the young people, but nothing comes for free.
We have worked for a long time to build trust and it does not take long for it to collapse, says Joachim Rolf.
