China News Service, Washington, September 13. Qin Gang, Chinese Ambassador to the United States, stated in Washington on the 13th that the difficulties and uncertainties facing China-US trade and economic cooperation do not come from China.

It is hoped that the U.S. and China will meet each other halfway and make concrete efforts to improve China-U.S. relations based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.

Qin Gang made this statement at the online welcome event held by the Board of Directors of the US-China Business Council that day.

Qin Gang pointed out that according to the latest survey conducted by the US-China Business Council, the US business community is most worried about the uncertainty that the difficulties and challenges of Sino-US relations will bring to the business community.

If we compare Sino-US relations to a giant ship, economic and trade cooperation has been the ballast and booster of this giant ship for a long time. The force has made the giant wheel of Sino-US relations surpass the wind and waves, and strive to move forward.

Qin Gang said, in the face of your concerns about the uncertainty of Sino-US relations, what I can alleviate is the certainty from China, that is, China’s economic prospects are bright, China’s market potential is huge, and China’s door to the outside world is opening wider and wider. As always, American companies are welcome to explore the Chinese market.

Frankly speaking, the difficulties and uncertainties facing China-US trade and economic and trade cooperation do not come from China.

It is hoped that the U.S. and China will meet each other halfway and make concrete efforts to improve China-U.S. relations based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.

Qin Gang said that China has worked hard to overcome the adverse effects of the epidemic, steadily promoted the implementation of the first phase of the China-US economic and trade agreement, fully demonstrated its sincerity, and made positive progress in strengthening intellectual property protection and expanding market access for agricultural products and the financial industry.

At the same time, China has adopted market-based tariff exclusion measures for imported goods from the United States to provide convenience for enterprises to carry out trade.

However, since the agreement came into effect, the United States has continued to take restrictive measures against China, including adding more than 900 Chinese entities to various restriction lists, which directly restricts the ability and willingness of companies to purchase from the United States and has a greater negative impact on the implementation of the agreement.

Qin Gang emphasized that the US business community is concerned about the next trend of China's tariff exemption policy.

There have been media reports recently that the US government is considering launching a 301 investigation on the issue of Chinese subsidies.

Facts have proved that neither the 301 investigation of China nor the tariff war will help.

The American business community has a first-hand experience of the consequences.

It is hoped that the United States will effectively create the necessary conditions and atmosphere for the implementation of the agreement and bilateral economic and trade exchanges, instead of making it worse.

US-China Business Council Board Chairman Lam Bowen, US-China Business Council Chairman Allen and some members of the US-China Business Council Board of Directors attended the event.

Qin Gang also introduced the development and policy measures of related industries in China, and exchanged views with board members on issues of common concern. (over)
