All of Lessebo's seven parties that are members of the council, support a call that they want more residents in the municipality to get involved politically.

The appeal began as an idea from Ragnar Lindberg (S).

- We want to highlight local democracy and we want in this way to get more people to get involved in some party.

Then we can have a dialogue with the residents and we can get opinions when we meet in the streets and squares, he says.

How should you concretely work with this?

- We will work a little differently within the parties with this, but the goal is to get more members and candidates, says Ragnar Lindberg.

One year left until the election

There is one year left until the election and then the parties will form their strengths and sharpen their arguments.

The importance of a commitment to the local community is what you will try to emphasize when you now try to recruit new politicians:

- We must pay attention to the fact that it is a choice and that it is their way of influencing the environment and the society in which they want to live, says Angelica Karlsson (C).

Marcus Dackling (M) realizes that it has not been entirely easy to gather all the parties in the council and to agree on one thing.

- We work towards the same goal, but we have many different ways to get there, but the end goal is a better municipality, he says.
