Hurricane Chantu has moved from Taiwan and is now located off the east coast of Shanghai and China.

But even if it will only "touch" the coast, it can cause great confusion.

- It is stuck there and will spin there until Thursday, says SVT's meteorologist Deana Bajic and adds that there are around 20 million people living in Shanghai.

"Violent winds"

Airports, schools and the subway have been shut down in Shanghai in anticipation of the storm.

- There will be 200-300 millimeters of rain per day in Shanghai, says Deana Bajic.

Winds of 70-80 meters per second have been measured.

- There are violent winds, but thankfully they were mostly over the water.

When they pulled in over Taiwan, they were 40-45 meters per second, says Deana Bajic.

It's hurricane season in the Pacific right now and Chantu is the fifth tropical hurricane to be classified as a category five this year.
