US-sponsored global COVID-19 summit to be held on September 22

This is reported by The Washington Post with reference to the White House invitation.

“During the summit, (US President Joe) Biden will address heads of government, heads of state and international organizations, and leaders of charities, nongovernmental organizations and business organizations to coordinate efforts to end the COVID-19 pandemic,” the invitation said.

It is noted that "the participants will announce concrete actions and set ambitious goals necessary to achieve this goal, as well as to prepare the world for future threats to health security."

Earlier, Biden spoke about the spread of the COVID-19 delta strain in the United States.
