The alarm about the shooting on Nydalavägen came at 03.37.

On Saturday morning, the police announced that a man in his 30s had died after the incident.

In the afternoon, a man suspected of murder was arrested and detained.

Later on Saturday, another six men were arrested, something Smålandsposten was the first to tell about.

The suspects are aged 17-21 and were arrested in various places around Växjö.

On Sunday, another man in his 20s was arrested and on Monday another young man.

Notice of arrest on Tuesday

Of the total of nine arrested, two are suspected of murder for probable cause, which is the higher degree of suspicion.

The other seven are reasonably suspected of aiding and abetting murder.

- Extensive investigative work is underway.

During the day, the suspects will be questioned together with defense counsel, says chamber prosecutor Emma Berge in a press release.

District Attorney Emma Berge is leading the preliminary investigation and will on Monday decide whether anyone should be requested to be detained.

By Tuesday at the latest, the prosecutor must decide whether or not those suspected of the shooting should be remanded in custody.

Suspected settlement

The police announced on Saturday that they suspect that the incident is part of a criminal settlement.

- It is one of our working hypotheses.

But why we have those thoughts is the kind of information we keep to ourselves, police spokesman Robert Loeffel told SVT Nyheter Småland then.

According to the police, interrogations with the detainees are now awaiting, among other things.

But also measures at Araby where the shooting took place.

- The residents will notice the police presence.

There may be a knock on the door, but also more police on the spot, says Viktor Jensen, on-duty preliminary investigation leader at the police in Växjö.
