On Monday evening, Guide Michelin presented this year's Nordic edition.

The four new restaurants that can boast a star are Aira in Stockholm, Project in Gothenburg, Äng in Hallåska Tvååker and Hotell Borgholm on Öland.

"The quality of cooking in the Nordic countries continues to impress with its creativity and the innovation of these new star restaurants makes them some of the most exciting we have seen," says Gwendal Poullennec at Guide Michelin in a press release.

Sweden's only three - star restaurant, Frantzén in Stockholm, retains its stars.

Another three restaurants in the Nordic region have the same number of stars, two in Denmark and one in Norway.

There are four two-star restaurants in Sweden and 14 one-star, four of which are new on this year's list.
