In the past, the regions themselves have made the assessment that it has not been possible to use data from their own registers of vaccinated people to reach out directly to unvaccinated people, as there is no established care contact.

But after consulting Sweden's municipalities and regions, SKR's, lawyers, they were told at the end of last week that they should be free to use the information as part of the vaccination campaign.

May be called for vaccination time

The announcement means that the region will soon send out direct letters to every person over 16 who is registered in Kalmar County and who is not included in the region's register of vaccinated.

What will it say in the letter?

- The communications department is working on that now.

We think that it may be information about how to get vaccinated, says Marie Ragnarsson, vaccine coordinator in the Kalmar Region.

Are you considering using summonses directly for vaccination?

- We have not yet taken a position on whether we should offer times or whether we should only offer drop in.

It's a lot about how we can provide booked times.

No letters in Kronoberg

The Kronoberg region, where governing politicians have requested the opportunity to contact unvaccinated people directly, however, has no plans today to use this opportunity to reach out to unvaccinated people.

- We have not discussed the issue in that way. We are now starting to use data we received from the public health authority, where they have rather designated residential areas where we will make targeted mailings, says Lena Andersson Nazzal, vaccine coordinator in Kronoberg.
