The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, announced today, Monday, that Iranian fuel will arrive by land to Lebanon starting from Thursday, coming from Syria, where the first ship unloaded its cargo at the port of Banias on Sunday, as part of his efforts to alleviate a severe fuel crisis on the impact of an accelerating economic collapse. .

Nasrallah thanked the Syrian authorities for receiving the shipment at the ports of Syria, and for facilitating its transport by land to Lebanon, saying that the fuel would arrive in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley next Thursday.

He said that in the past period, during the ship's movement at sea, "we made contacts because we had two options: Either the ship would anchor on the Lebanese shores and unload its cargo in Lebanon, or it would go to Banias in Syria."

He added, "We found through the contacts that the arrival of the ship to the Lebanese facilities would constitute a great embarrassment for the state, and we do not want to embarrass the state as long as there is another option, and accordingly we went to the other option, which is anchoring the ship in Baniyas."

Regarding the ship’s tonnage, Nasrallah explained that the ship that arrived carries diesel, as well as the second ship, which he said will arrive within a few days at Baniyas port, while the third will allocate its cargo to gasoline.

He said that the goal is not trade, profit, or competition with companies importing oil derivatives, but rather to help alleviate people's suffering, declaring his desire to provide several facilities and institutions - including government hospitals, nursing homes for the elderly and orphans and the Red Cross - with their needs of diesel for a month as a "free gift". If you so desire.

Hezbollah intends to sell a number of private institutions - including hospitals, ovens and owners of electricity generators - diesel at "less than the cost price" and in Lebanese pounds, according to Nasrallah, who announced that "a certain percentage of the cost price will be borne by us and we consider it a gift and a gift and support for the Lebanese people before The Islamic Republic of Iran and Hezbollah.

Nasrallah announced last month that a ship loaded with fuel would sail from Iran to Lebanon, to be followed by other ships, successively, without specifying its destination and the mechanism of unloading its cargo.

Hours after the new Lebanese government held its first session, Nasrallah welcomed its formation, calling on it to carry out the mission of "rescuing and reforming, giving priority to living needs and alleviating people's suffering."
