September 13, 2021 The Verbania Fire Brigade has been at work since this morning at Mottarone to cut a section of the hauling cable of the Stresa cable car which crashed on May 23. There were 15 people in the cabin, only one, a 5-year-old child, was saved.
The Fire Brigade uses a cutting-off motor which is used to cut 15 meters of the rope, calculated from the point near the `` cast head '' that joins the cable itself to the trolley of the cabin.
The length of rope will then be kept in a seizure deposit available to investigators. The carcass of the crashed cabin should be removed by 15 October and will be dissected.
