On Monday, Minister of Trade and Industry Ibrahim Baylan (S) answered questions regarding the information published in connection with the Supreme Land and Environmental Court's decision to stop the limestone mining on Gotland.

Accused of darkening

According to the opposition, the government may have tried to cover up a report regarding a possible closure of the company Cementa.

The Liberals are not satisfied with the Minister of Trade and Industry's response and have now made a report to the Constitution Committee, KU.

- We can state that we received more questions than answers in the question.

I would have liked to have seen him admit that the ministry had made a mistake and answered why the ministry intervened in the authorities' work.

If you can confess your mistakes then you can also correct them, says Arman Teimori (L) member of the business committee.

It was in August that the Swedish Geological Survey, SGU, on behalf of the government, produced a report on the consequences of a possible closure of Cementa's limestone quarry on Gotland.

In a telephone meeting with representatives at the Government Offices, the authority was asked to wait to make the report public even though the report had been completed.

This started the discussion about a possible blackout.

Baylan denies

Ibrahim Baylan (S) is surprised by the discussion about a potential secrecy.

- The report has been public long before these allegations arose.

In inquiries, the report has been released and we also sent with this report when another report was requested by the media, says Ibrahim Baylan at a press conference on Monday.
