The investigating judge in charge of the investigation targeting Gerald Darmanin for "rape" pronounced the end of the investigations in early September without indicting the Minister of the Interior, directing the case to a dismissal, according to two close sources of the file, confirming information from Mediapart.

It is now up to the Paris prosecutor's office, which did not wish to confirm, to take its requisitions before the final decision of the investigating judge.

The plaintiff, Sophie Patterson-Spatz, accuses the minister of rape and first filed a complaint in 2017 and the case has gone through lengthy procedural wrangles.
