The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld a ruling by the Dubai Criminal Court, of one year in prison, a fine of 879,947 dirhams, and then deportation, against an African maid who was convicted of stealing one million and 100,000 dirhams in front of her employer, without noticing that, and she agreed with her boyfriend, to Smuggling her out of the country, but he betrayed her after he provided her with accommodation with a woman, and convinced her that it was a temporary solution until her departure was arranged, but the Dubai police preceded her and arrested her, while her partner fled after obtaining the money.

In the police report and the Public Prosecution's investigations, the accused admitted her crime, but retracted her confession before the Criminal and Appeal Courts, and the two courts confirmed their confidence in her first confession, and the evidence provided by the competent authorities.

The housewife of the victim said in the investigations of the Public Prosecution, that the accused started working for her last March, and then noticed that she was stealing the small sums of money that she found at home, so I spoke to her and warned her against that.

She added that her husband called her on the day of the incident and asked her to keep the key to the room that contained sums of money with her, then he came and took the amount of 1000 dirhams, closed the drawer that contained the money, and put his key among the clothes in a wardrobe in another room.

She added that he went down to the ground floor, made a phone call, and personally saw the accused ascending to the first floor, and came out of the house carrying a black bag, and then returned, but he did not notice or stop much in front of her exit in this suspicious way, as she rearranged everything in its place, The next day, she ran away from the house, and later discovered that she had stolen 760,000 dirhams, 50 thousand dollars, and about 3,000 Kuwaiti dinars.

For his part, a witness from Dubai Police stated that upon receiving a report of the theft, a working team was formed, and the accused was located, and arrested after three weeks, and admitted that she had stolen those sums and handed them over to another suspect, in exchange for smuggling them out of the country, and the man agreed with A third accused was kept with her in her home for 1500 dirhams, and the latter was aware of the incident in which the maid was involved, and agreed to house her, then the man left the state after receiving the stolen money, and left the accused.
