An atrocious scene.

A surge of violence that had led a couple to kill a former fellow inmate, before dismembering his body and then attempting to burn it in the fireplace of the house.

In Melrand, a small quiet village located between Lorient and Pontivy, an evening had degenerated in January 2017. In September 2020, the Assize Court of Morbihan had condemned the couple to very heavy sentences: thirty years of criminal imprisonment, accompanied by a twenty-year security sentence.

This Monday, a new trial opens before the Rennes Court of Appeal.

This sordid story was tied one evening in January, in 2017. Ludivine Quénehen and her companion Frédéric Catrevaux receive at their home a man he met in prison.

The latter is presented as "fragile".

The couple obviously want to take the opportunity to extort money from him and welcome him to his home, against a background of alcohol and cocaine consumption.

An evening that would have changed when the victim was a little too close to the questioning.

The rest is just a surge of violence.

The victim was said to have had his throat cut.

Before his body was dismembered, then partially burned in the fireplace of the house.

The respondent convicted of rape of his daughter

In the first instance, the couple kept blaming each other on the blame.

The two accused had received the same sentence: thirty in prison.

Since this trial, Frédéric Catrevaux has been sentenced to another twelve years in prison by the Loire-Atlantique Assize Court for acts of rape committed against his underage daughter.

Facts which took place in 2011 in Nantes during a conditional release of the father.

Abuse that the victim had already denounced, but which had been dismissed.

He had had to take his excrement for traces of his father's semen to be identified.

The trial before the Rennes Court of Appeal takes place all week.

The decision is expected on Friday.
