The trial of the Paris attacks in November 2015 continues to hear from witnesses who witnessed the attacks.

On the front lines, the police were directly confronted with the violence of the attacks.

Brigadier-chef Jean-Baptiste was among the first to arrive at rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi, where five people were killed.

TESTIMONY

As the trial of the Paris attacks continues, it is now up to investigators and police officers to testify about what they saw that evening.

With his brigade, Brigadier-Chef Jean-Baptiste arrived rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi, in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, where the terrorists killed five people in front of the bar La Bonne Bière and the restaurant Casa Nostra.

On Europe 1, he tells the story of this evening "terrible to live" to which he "thinks again every time".

Jean-Baptiste arrives with his brigade shortly after the terrorists fired on the customers of these establishments.

"I see someone lying on the ground. I think it's a traffic accident. I tell myself that we will go and see."

With his three colleagues, Jean-Baptiste discovers the extent of the disaster.

How will the trial of the November 13 attacks be organized?

"We felt helpless"

At that time, as in other places in Paris and Saint-Denis, there was panic on rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi. "There are people screaming, we are called upon from everywhere to give first aid." The policeman's fear is that terrorists are still around. "We say to ourselves: if it comes out, we will give everything and we will empty the magazines." The policeman and his team blamed themselves for not having saved more people: "That's what worked us the most. We felt helpless." Despite everything, the policeman salutes on Europe 1 "the mutual aid" which people showed that evening. A "positive side" in a "terrible evening".
