The operational direction of Infoca has decreed the
preventive eviction of the Malaga municipality of Jubrique,
which affects more than 500 residents, due to the forest fire declared last Wednesday in the area serving five days of activity and in whose extinction work a firefighter has died .
The preventive eviction of Jubrique has been decided a couple of hours ago and is taking place with the maximum security measures with buses and with three adapted vehicles with more than a dozen places for people with reduced mobility, has reported Emergencias 112 Andalucía.
The flames have already reached 6,000 hectares in the Malaga municipalities of Estepona, Jubrique, Genalguacil and Benahavís, from where 1,070 people have had to be evacuated from their homes.
A total of 41 aerial means have joined with the first lights of the day to the work to extinguish the flames, reports Emergencias Andalucía.
The Civil Guard and the National Police, with the Public Health Emergencies Company (EPES) and the collaboration of the Civil Protection groups of Yunquera, Ronda, Algatocín, Moclinejo, Antequera, Teba and Canillas de Aceituno, are carrying out this preventive eviction. The latest estimates amount to 6,000 hectares affected and suggest that a good part of the 40-kilometer perimeter of the flames has already been considered stabilized.
On Saturday night there were four areas that concern the Infoca Plan due to the activity of the fire and for this reason the work continued this morning.
This Saturday, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, confirms that the fire has been intentional and warns: "We will find the perpetrators. Let them not sleep soundly."
