According to the source, Sudan hopes to receive economic assistance from the Russian side on condition of a lease for a five-year period with the possibility of concluding an agreement for 25 years.
The source also said that Moscow has not yet responded to this proposal.
On July 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted for ratification to the State Duma an agreement between Russia and Sudan on the creation of a logistics center for the Russian Navy.
Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the situation with the agreement on the Navy base on the Red Sea, said that Sudan is also preparing to ratify the agreement.
