12 September 2021 Another rocket was launched this evening from Gaza towards the south of Israel, in particular towards the town of Sderot, where the alarm sirens had sounded shortly before. A military spokesman said the rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome, the anti-missile defense system.

It is the third night in a row that rockets are launched towards Israel from the Strip. According to the media, two people were slightly injured as they ran towards the shelters.

Earlier, the Israeli chief of staff, Aviv Kohavi, had warned that the military "will not accept any violation of Israel's sovereignty" and that if the rockets intensify, "Hamas and the Gaza Strip will pay a heavy price".
