France: one dead and four injured in the crash of a civil security helicopter in Isère

A civil security mechanic died on Sunday, September 12, in a helicopter crash near Villard-de-Lans, in Isère.

The aircraft carried four other people.

Wounded, they were evacuated to the Grenoble University Hospital.

The accident occurred near Villard-de-Lans, a town in Isère located in the Vercors massif.

The prefecture of the department reported it at the end of the afternoon: a Civil Security helicopter, in intervention and with five people on board, crashed to the ground.

And in the early evening, she announced the sad news: “ 

The helicopter mechanic was declared dead despite the care provided by rescuers.

 "

The other members of the team, namely the pilot, a doctor from the SAMU and two high mountain gendarmes, were taken care of by the medical teams and evacuated to the Grenoble University Hospital.

According to the prefecture of Isère, one of them has serious injuries.

The others are more slightly affected.

Eric Vaillant, the public prosecutor of Grenoble, indicates that the Grenoble prosecutor's office has opened an investigation and seized the air transport research section, competent in the matter and based in Roissy.

Two investigators are due to arrive on Sunday evening, three more on Monday.

The Isère gendarmerie group was also seized.

According to the prefecture, the causes of the accident are currently " 

undetermined

 ".

The Minister of the Interior was the first to react.

On Twitter, Gérald Darmanin sent his condolences to the family and colleagues of the mechanic who died on Sunday: “
