A spokesman for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), pledged to release the prisoners who were re-arrested by the occupation in any future exchange deal, while it is expected that the re-arrested prisoners will appear today before the Israeli Magistrate's Court.

He said in a speech this evening, "No new exchange deal will take place without the four heroic prisoners who were re-arrested by the occupation."

"We promise our free prisoners that they will be liberated soon within the new Ahrar deal," he added.

He stressed that the arrest of the prisoners does not hide what he described as "the extent of the shame inflicted on the enemy and its institutions," and considered that the process of escaping the prisoners once again showed "the fragility of the enemy's security."

Appearance of the prisoners before the Magistrate's Court

In the same context, the four Palestinian prisoners who were re-arrested will appear this evening before the Israeli Magistrate's Court in the city of Nazareth to extend their detention.

The occupation forces had arrested two other Palestinian prisoners, south of Nazareth, at dawn on Saturday;

The number of those re-arrested during the past hours, four out of six, escaped last Monday from Gilboa Prison in northern Israel.

For its part, the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Commission announced that it assigned its legal staff to determine their fate and reveal the location and conditions of their detention.

And it warned, in a statement, that the occupation authorities would abuse and retaliate against them.

The Palestine Liberation Organization held the Israeli government fully responsible for the lives of all Palestinian prisoners in its prisons.

The organization said that the Israeli authorities' re-arrest of four of the six prisoners who escaped from Gilboa prison requires international intervention, to determine the conditions of detention and to ensure the prisoners' safety.

She referred to the Israeli authorities' transformation of their prisons into military barracks, where they practice repression and continuous attacks that threaten the lives of prisoners, according to the statement.

Solidarity with the prisoners

The city of Ramallah witnessed a solidarity march with the prisoners in the prisons of the Israeli occupation.

Participants in the march raised the Palestinian flag, and pictures of Palestinian prisoners who were re-arrested by the Israeli authorities after escaping from Gilboa prison last week.

The participants, who gathered at the invitation of the national and Islamic forces, chanted slogans saluting the prisoners and calling for an escalation of movements to support and protect them.

Intensify the search for the remaining captives

In the same context, the Israeli occupation forces intensified their search near the town of Nazareth for the two prisoners, Munadil Yaqoub Nafeat, and Ayham Fouad Kammaji, after arresting 4 of the six prisoners who escaped from Gilboa prison a few days ago.

Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that an Israeli helicopter was conducting search and sweep operations in the Marj Ibn Amer area (south of Nazareth).

The criminal investigation agents also began to upload evidence they found in an agricultural field, at a time when the Israeli police deployed checkpoints in the area witnessing intense security reinforcements.

On Saturday morning, the Israeli occupation forces arrested the two Palestinian prisoners, Zakaria Al-Zubaidi and Muhammad Ardah, bringing the number of those arrested during the past hours to 4 of the six prisoners who escaped a few days ago from Gilboa prison.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the Israeli security forces arrested the two prisoners, al-Zubaidi and Aardeh, in a parking garage between the villages of Arab al-Shibli and Umm al-Ghanam at the foot of Jabal al-Tur (south of the city of Nazareth).

Israeli media said that intelligence information had reached the police indicating the whereabouts of the two prisoners hiding before their arrest.

The Hebrew "Wala" website said that the former commander of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, Zakaria Al-Zubaidi, tried to resist his arrest and escape, but he was very exhausted and was immediately brought under control.

The website indicated that the two were transferred to the investigation cellars of the Shin Bet security service.
