Cases of loss of historically important cultural heritage sites are not isolated, she noted.

According to Petrenko, their destruction and change in appearance occurs not only under the influence of time, but also as a result of illegal actions.

For example, in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region recently, facts of damage and loss of such objects have been revealed, requiring measures of criminal law response.

At the same time, only the criminal legal mechanism does not allow to fully ensure the restoration of lost historical objects, the UK stressed.

“Therefore, the voiced proposal to create a unified list of historical sites in need of salvation and subsequent restoration is a rational idea and, of course, will contribute to strengthening activities for the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage,” RIA Novosti quotes Petrenko.

Earlier, the first deputy chairman of the Public Chamber of the Leningrad Region, Vladimir Petrov, proposed developing a new national project, the purpose of which would be to create a single list of historical objects in need of salvation and subsequent restoration.
