The Wadden Sea opens to the public tomorrow Saturday, but the wading birds have already started to move in.

 - Here are some brush males and red deer, says a satisfied Kåre Ström, Gothenburg Ornithological Society, then he continues to list additional species he has just seen in the binoculars.

Many of the wading environments have been lost

The idea for the Wadden Sea comes from Kåre Ström and his ornithologist friends.

The Port of Gothenburg thought it was a good idea and this for the same money as the grass hill that was otherwise planned here.

- Historically, many of the wading environments have been lost in industrialization and here, in Torslandaviken, is Gothenburg's ornithological cradle, says Kåre Ström.
