The 2021 Annual Meeting of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (hereinafter referred to as "CCICED") will be held in Beijing from September 7th to 9th.

During the conference, the theme forum of the annual conference was launched around "China's urban low-carbon transformation and community green technology innovation in the context of carbon neutrality".

How to avoid "movement-style" carbon reduction in the construction of green urbanization?

Authoritative experts from China and other countries in the world gave pertinent suggestions.

Liu Shijin, China’s chief adviser to the China Council and deputy director of the Economic Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, said in his opening speech that the green transformation needs to "start first and then break", and a new green technology system is needed to replace gray and brown technologies, while achieving high value-added Value, low-carbon or zero-carbon, low-cost green technology innovation is essentially a technological revolution.

To avoid "movement-style" carbon reduction, future work should focus on the following aspects: promote technological progress, work hard on the R&D and promotion of green technologies; correctly understand the relationship between green transformation and economic development, and fully realize that green technology R&D and promotion will become China in the future One of the most important growth drivers of the economy.

Pay attention to the key position of the community as the basic unit of the city in the application of green urbanization and green technology, and pay attention to the driving effect of technological innovation on green consumption and green investment.

Li Xiaojiang, former president of the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design, pointed out that in order to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality, at the community level, it is necessary to rely on the innovation, application and integration of green technologies, and at the same time to realize the transformation of green lifestyles.

Wang Kai, Dean of China Urban Planning and Design Institute, put forward suggestions on green urbanization and digital planning and construction technology: using new urban construction as a starting point, coordinating various smart devices, and enhancing the synergistic effect of carbon emission reduction; based on the city information model platform to achieve The management of energy consumption and carbon emissions is closely linked with the integration of planning, construction and management. Through digital simulation and planning decision-making systems, it supports carbon measurement and evaluation of planning and design and urban renewal; based on urban physical examination, the establishment of dynamic monitoring and evaluation of green city construction mechanism.

The fourth is to use digital technology to transform urban public spaces and manage energy consumption in public areas more flexibly.
