In honor of the victims of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, leaders from around the world pledged with one voice that they will never forget the past.
French President Emmanuel Macron posted on Twitter, "We will never forget. We will always fight for freedom."
In a message to U.S. President Joe Biden, Queen Elizabeth II paid tribute to the rescue workers who were on duty at the scene of the accident, as well as to the victims, survivors and affected families.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in a statement yesterday that "terrorists have not been able to divide our countries, make us give up our values or live in eternal fear."
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said: "Although we have been able to defeat the terrorism that jeopardizes our security, we have not yet achieved all our goals."
