The controversial Långfors power station will now be demolished

In February 2020, Jämtkraft's board decided to drop the idea of ​​renovating Långfors.

One consequence of this is now that the power station will be demolished.

- The plan is to demolish next year, says Susann Handler, project manager at Jämtkraft to SVT Jämtland.

Jämtkraft is applying for permission to remove the assault dam in Långan and the more than 100-year-old power station.

The costs for the demolition are estimated at SEK 8 million.
