The Gironde firefighters were called Thursday evening when shots had just occurred in the town of Caumont, near Langon (Gironde).
The emergency services discovered in a house in the town a man and a woman hit by a firearm, reports France Bleu Gironde.
The man in his thirties died on the spot, while the 32-year-old woman was transported in serious condition to the CHU Pellegrin in Bordeaux.
The shooter fled, but a suspect was arrested in the evening.
According to
Sud Ouest,
the shooter and alleged perpetrator could be the young woman's former companion.
