The official spokeswoman for the health sector in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, confirmed that children with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, asthma, and other chronic diseases, are more susceptible to complications from “Covid-19” than others, advising their families to ensure that they are vaccinated against the virus, noting that the state It provides vaccines for children from the age of three to 12 years, so it is important to give them the vaccine.

In detail, Al-Hosani explained, in media statements, that vaccinating children reduces their chances of contracting the disease, which contributes to a faster return to normal life, in addition to contributing to the safe return of students to schools, especially with the need for children to return to school and practice social life. correctly and safely with their schoolmates.

She stressed the safety of children's vaccines, according to the results of clinical trials carried out by the health sector, stressing that the vaccines available in the country meet all safety and security requirements for all targeted age groups, continuing that "our message to parents is that our children are the source of our happiness, and it is our duty to preserve their health and safety." Vaccination can stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies, thus reducing the impact of infection with the virus.

She indicated the need for students to use personal protective equipment, not to exchange them with colleagues, to avoid shaking hands during greeting, and to inform the educational facility if the student suffers from any chronic diseases, or immune deficiency, and in the event of symptoms of “Covid-19”, the person responsible for the treatment must be notified. Health and safety in the school, in order for the school to follow the procedures, and to inform the parents about the presence of a suspicion of infection or to inform them of any developments about the health situation in the facility, and the facility must allocate an isolation room in accordance with the requirements set by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, and follow the procedures for dealing with Suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Al Hosani said: "We have been through a year and a half since the application of distance learning, and the education sector has proven its success in continuing the educational system, despite the (Covid-19) pandemic, and today our role is important to maintain this success and return to normal life again," noting that the continuation of Education in all state schools is a responsibility of the educational system, along with the students' families, through continuous awareness and guidance.

It is worth noting that the complementary study of the immune response of children to the Sinopharm vaccine, aged between three and 17 years, approved by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, after proving the effectiveness of the vaccine in reducing infection rates and symptom severity among the target groups. 900 children of all nationalities, as each child participated in this study after the approval of his guardian, and they were closely monitored and followed up. Parents and children were provided with full details about participation, and they received the necessary support during every step of it.

Children's vaccination centers

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) has identified 15 centers to vaccinate children aged three years and over, without an appointment, and called on parents to vaccinate their children against “Covid-19”, by visiting the vaccination sites without prior appointment, stressing that this step aims to Immunization of all segments of society.

While the schools of the students' parents called for the vaccination of their children into consideration, to protect them and preserve the health of those around them, in addition to contributing to the implementation of a successful academic year.

“SEHA” provided children’s vaccination services without an appointment in five centers within Abu Dhabi city, including the “Covid-19” vaccine center at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, the Al Mushrif Specialized Center for Children, and the Al Mushrif, Al Manhal, and Al Bateen councils, and in three centers in Al Ain, including the Al Mushrif Children’s Center. The “Covid-19” vaccine is available at the Al Ain Convention Center, the Al Tawiya Children’s Specialized Center, and the Falah Hazaa Council, in addition to seven centers in the Al Dhafra region, including the Al Dhafra Family Medicine Center, a health center for the “Covid-19” vaccination in the Al Dhafra Association Hall, and the Ghayathi and Dalma councils. , Liwa, Commodities, and Harbor Council.
