“Anti-aircraft missile and aviation units of the armed forces of the two countries have taken up joint combat duty as part of the recently created combat training center for joint training of the air forces and air defense forces of Belarus and Russia,” the Belarusian defense ministry said in a Telegram channel.
The ceremonial events took place at the airfield of the 61st Fighter Air Base of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
Also, Russia and Belarus are conducting joint strategic military exercises "West-2021".
The maneuvers will take place on the territory of the two states from September 10 to 16.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Zapad-2021 exercises would be defensive in nature.
