The measurement is valid until Friday 2 hours.

The day before, 32 departments had been classified in orange vigilance, from Occitanie to Ile-de-France.

Four departments have been placed on orange vigilance for the risk of thunderstorms and flooding from Thursday 4 p.m., Météo-France announced in its latest bulletin.

The monitoring measure concerns the departments of Ariège, Haute-Garonne, Gers and Tarn-et-Garonne.

It is valid until Friday 2 hours.

The day before, 32 departments had been classified in orange vigilance, from Occitanie to Ile-de-France due to significant storm fronts which in particular caused very heavy rainfall in Agen, in Lot-et-Garonne where the equivalent of two months of rain fell in three hours.

Thunderstorms will shift eastward in the late evening

This "active rainstorm" episode will continue, with "in the second part of the afternoon, thunderstorms over the Pyrenean foothills" which will "become widespread over the entire area concerned in the early evening".

The eastern part of the Gers will be "more particularly affected by this heavy rainfall".

At the end of the evening, the thunderstorms will shift towards the east and then only concern "Haute-Garonne and Ariège" before "completely evacuating the region in the middle of the night".
