This was reported by TASS with reference to the data of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan.

“The Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Emergence and Spread of Coronavirus Infection in the Republic of Kazakhstan on September 7 allowed to increase the number of flights between Kazakhstan and Russia three times, from 11 to 33 flights per week,” the publication says.

The corresponding decision must also be approved by the Russian side.

If the decision is positive, the number of regular flights is planned to be increased on the routes Nur-Sultan - Moscow, Alma-Ata - Moscow, Shymkent - Moscow and Karaganda - Moscow.

In June, Russia officially resumed flights interrupted in 2020 by the COVID-19 pandemic with eight countries. Russian carriers have opened direct regular flights to Austria, Hungary, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Morocco and Croatia.
