“The European Union expresses concern over the appointment of the interim government of Afghanistan by the Taliban on 7 September.

Its composition does not correspond to the promises declared by the Taliban and the need to create an inclusive government that reflects the political, religious and ethnic diversity of Afghanistan, "the EU foreign policy service quoted TASS as saying.

The statement notes that "inclusive and representative government is a key element for building a stable and peaceful Afghanistan."

On September 7, the Taliban announced the composition of the new Afghan government.

As a Taliban spokesman noted, for the first time in 40 years, the republic will be fully subordinate to a government formed from members of the movement.
