Indian officials said on Thursday that a tiger killed a tribal youth who went to relieve himself in a forest in Karnataka state.

Forest officials in the area declared a state of emergency, as the site of the attack, which took place on Wednesday, was located just 150 meters from the Ayankir tribal village.

A cage was also placed there to trap the tiger.

The victim is Ganesh, 19 years old.

Although there is a trench between the forest area and the small village, the victim broke through the trench, according to forest officials.

According to the official version, the tiger pounced on the victim and pulled him away for a distance of 100 meters before moving further, after beheading the victim.

Yesterday, the victim's parents and the restless villagers began to search the woods because he did not return home until the afternoon.

The crowd soon found traces of blood and followed the corpse.

Forest officers rushed to the site and confirmed the death due to a tiger attack.

Frightened residents protested the forest management and demanded compensation.

In return, the Forest Department later issued a check of Rs 2,000 to the victim's family and said the remaining compensation of Rs 5,000 would be released later.

It should be noted that Karnataka is the eighth Indian state in terms of area, with an area of 192,000 square kilometers, and the ninth in terms of population, with a population of 55,868,200 people. Its capital is the city of Bangalore.
