A 39-year-old liberal nurse was tried in Pau court on Tuesday.

She had collided with two pedestrians in Oloron-Sainte-Marie (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) on the night of July 11 to 12, 2020. The driver had tested positive for the alcohol test, reveals France Bleu Oloron-Sainte-Marie.

After the accident, the two victims, a local resident and a delivery man, were seriously injured.

They were hospitalized ten days for fractures, broken ribs and open wounds, local radio said.

They demanded more than 15,000 euros in compensation each during the trial.

The defendant recognizes the accident but not the alcohol consumption

Tested positive for alcohol, the young woman had not submitted to the blood test which would have revealed the exact rate.

An aggravating circumstance in the case.

A few days after the accident, the gendarmes took her into police custody for questioning.

Before the judges, the defendant admitted to having hit the delivery man's truck but she denied having drunk a large amount of alcohol and refused the blood test.

The prosecutor requested a three-month suspended prison sentence as well as a six-month license suspension.

The court decision will be handed down on October 5 at the latest.
