The public prosecutor's office in Zwickau, Saxony, has to investigate election posters for a right-wing extremist splinter party calling for "Hang the Greens!"

The authority had initially rejected the investigation due to a lack of initial suspicion, but was instructed to do so by the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office on Thursday.

It is an initial suspicion of public incitement to criminal offenses and sedition.

The Greens had filed a complaint because of the slogan.

The party also announced that it would also take action against the posters in other regions of Saxony.

However, the Zwickau public prosecutor initially did not initiate an investigation because the posters did not constitute a request for a specific act.

"This is not a serious appeal to attack someone in a certain place and on a certain day," said a spokeswoman.

The current instruction from the public prosecutor's office currently relates exclusively to the case in Zwickau, as a spokesman for the authority emphasized.

The city had the splinter party “III.

Away ”on Wednesday requested by order to remove the posters.

Saxony's Justice Minister Katja Meier (Greens) spoke of a "hate call", which should not be a means of the election campaign. The posters were evidence of cynical misanthropy. The “III. Weg ”had posted the slogan in Munich, according to the company itself. The police had seized the posters there.
