According to the telephone salesman, a female representative from the telecom company was able to come to the man's home and replace the current mobile phone.
When she arrived, she got the man's bank card to pay for the new mobile phone.
But the woman never showed up and the older man understood that he had been deceived.
- It is no art to map older people, where they live and that they live alone, says Stefan Wickberg, press spokesperson at the Bergslagen police region.
Aging crime on Hammarö
It is still unclear whether the fraudsters managed to withdraw money from the card or if something is missing in the apartment after the woman's visit.
Last week, two elderly people on Hammarö were exposed to fraudsters who pretended to be coming from the municipality to perform work in the home.
In one case, they managed to get over both the bank card and the code when they demanded payment for the work.
- There is a connection between these three cases, but there are also things that speak against it, says Stefan Wickberg.
