Giorgetti: "Waiting for a decision by the EU Commission in the next few hours"

"The route is predetermined by the decision of the European Commission and by the laws approved by Parliament. We are awaiting, I hope it will be a matter of hours, for the final decision of the European Commission which contains the elements on the basis of which the extraordinary administration, supervised by the Ministry of Economic development, it is moving ".

Thus on the Ita-Alitalia dossier the Ministry of Economic Development, Giancarlo Giorgetti, responding in the Chamber of the Chamber to the question time to a Leu question. As for the employment prospects of Ita, the minister specified, underlining the automation granted to its administrators by the shareholder Ministry of Economy, that the discontinuity claimed by the EU "is valid for everything, it is valid for the aviation branch, and is valid for the personal, because the discontinuity is not just about numbers, but also about employment contracts ".

Giorgetti then underlined the cost-effectiveness condition that the new company must respect. "It is a complicated and delicate step - he concluded -, but I reiterate that the alternative to this step was bankruptcy, not yet completely averted because the state aid approved by Parliament is the subject of a decision, which is also pending and risks to compromise the operation. The route is obligatory and we are trying to continue it in the best possible way ".

Fassina: "The government aims at low cost without a future"

"An unsatisfactory response from Minister Giorgetti. The route was not obligatory. On the liquidation of Alitalia and the structuring of Ita, the Government tries to unload its political responsibilities on the European Commission. But the non-application of the national labor contract, such as the choice on the circumvention of article 2112 of the Civil Code regarding the transfer of personnel from Alitalia to Ita and the duration of the redundancy fund are entirely of the government. The industrial plan of Ita is aimed at creating a regional low cost driven by social dumping. A solution without a future. The route followed by the management of Ita must be reversed and a sustainable perspective on an industrial and social level must be defined, in conjunction with the trade unions. I hope that Parliament will intervene ".This was stated in the courtroom at Montecitorio by the deputy from Leu, Stefano Fassina, in his reply to Minister Giorgetti during the Question time on the Alitalia-Ita affair.
