The Social Democrats have continued to gain favor with the electorate.

According to the latest survey by the Institute for Demoskopie Allensbach on behalf of the FAZ, if there were to be a federal election now, the SPD would get 27 percent.

This is an increase of three points compared to the previous survey.

CDU and CSU achieve 25 percent, one point less than last.

The Greens go back from 17 to 15.5 percent.

For the first time in a long time, the FDP is below ten percent.

Allensbach found 9.5 percent for the Liberals.

The AfD has eleven percent, the Left Party six.

A total of 1258 people were interviewed for the representative survey between September 1st and 7th. Allensbach last determined similar survey results for the SPD in 2017. At that time, the SPD's annual average was 25 percent. At the beginning of 2021, the Union parties were still at 37 percent. After that, the values initially fell, but recovered again in June and July. They have been going back since the end of July. The Greens had their highest ever figure in April with 26 percent. The FDP was stable in double digits from April to the end of August.

The results confirm the trend of previous polls on the federal election, in which the SPD was also able to record gains against the Union and the Greens. Last week, the Wahl research group saw the SPD at 25 percent (plus three), the Union at 22 (unchanged) and the Greens at 17 (minus three). The ARD Germany trend recently led the SPD with 25 percent (plus seven), the Union with 20 (minus seven) and the Greens with 16 (minus three).
