On the night of Monday to Tuesday, a fire broke out in the perimeter of a primary school in Lens, in Pas-de-Calais, we learned from the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS ).

A police source confided that the criminal track was privileged.

The fire started around midnight on Tuesday in the gymnasium adjoining the Jean-Macé elementary school, in front of the Saint Édouard church in Lens.

The intervention of more than thirty firefighters and the implementation of six water hoses made it possible to overcome the flames in the morning and prevent the spread to the rest of the school.

Eleven people had to be evacuated and no injuries were to be deplored, said SDIS 62. The gymnasium, however, was completely destroyed.
