Even before this year's zeroing, the Social Democratic politicians in Linköping called on the Alliance Board to stop it. They then said that it was not appropriate in view of an increased spread of covid-19 and an increased need for police operations in the Berga district.

Åsa Wennergren (L), chairman of the education committee, however, said that the zeroing could take place in an infectious manner and the Social Democrats did not get a hearing.

The police saw red The

zeroing was carried out as usual and from several places it was reported that the activities of the high school students had derailed.

- It is enough with humiliation, drunkenness, abuse and agitation, wrote area police Jessica Ljung in a post on Facebook.

Want to put it down completely

Now the Social Democrats go a step further and propose that the zeroing activities be discontinued altogether.

- The reality unfortunately gave us the right thing again this year. The police have alerted about drunkenness, disorder and care, says Kristina Edlund (S), municipal councilor in Linköping.

Therefore, the politicians now want the sponsorship activities to be abolished immediately and that the introduction of new students to the upper secondary school is only done under the auspices of the school, by the school staff.

- We want to set aside money for activities that the new students can do together with the teachers, for example an overnight stay at a campground, says Elias Aguirre (S), municipal councilor in Linköping.
