For an as yet undetermined reason, a truck lay on its side and caught fire on Monday morning on the RN12 at Lamballe (Côtes-d'Armor).

Part of the cargo spilled onto the four-lane connecting Rennes to Saint-Brieuc.

Traffic is still blocked in this direction on the RN12.

Deviations have been put in place.

According to firefighters, the driver of the heavy vehicle was transported slightly injured to the Saint-Brieuc hospital center.

In the process, the gendarmes asked the occupants of the area of the industrial zone of Lamballe to caulk their windows and doors.

The alert from the gendarmes did not last long and the police quickly opted for a more reassuring message.

The direction of the wind having changed, the toxic fumes which escape from the heavy truck accident on the RN12 no longer go towards this important activity zone where big companies like the Cooperl are installed.

Contacted, the Côtes d'Armor firefighters ensure that they are in control of the fire.

However, heavy smoke continues to escape from the heavy truck, which was carrying animal food.
