The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company "SEHA" has announced that it has provided about 500,000 medical consultations through the video and audio-based medicine service (VOPC), since the service was launched last year, in all outpatient clinics in all its hospitals and health centers affiliated with outpatient treatment services.

She explained that this number constitutes 10% of the outpatient appointments of the SEHA network, as this service allowed doctors in outpatient clinics and health centers to evaluate, diagnose and treat remotely, in a manner consistent with SEHA's goals to provide world-class health care services.

The Acting Executive Director of Operations at SEHA, Dr. Marwan Al-Kaabi, confirmed that the telemedicine service played an important role in SEHA’s efforts to combat “Covid 19” and provide outstanding health care to patients, and the service proved its success and effectiveness, and allowed patients to receive medical care in “Health” facilities by remotely communicating with the doctors who treat them.

He said that SEHA has succeeded in accelerating the digital transformation aimed at improving the quality of services provided to patients, facilitating access to health care, enhancing patient experience and ensuring safety and comfort. The launch of the telemedicine service for outpatients during the past year was a successful step in this framework. The number of patients benefiting from this service will increase as digital and technological capabilities continue to be enhanced.

And “SEHA” stated that obtaining the medical service via video and audio is done by setting an appointment for the patient to provide a telemedicine consultation, and at the specified date, the patient receives a call from the doctor’s office to verify his data, and then the treating doctor or health care specialist is contacted to conduct the session confidentially. After the session ends, the patient can obtain a report about the consultation through the “SEHA” application.

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company "SEHA" reported that it had presented many strategic initiatives in the field of health care, as part of its efforts to combat the outbreak of the "Covid 19" virus, as it provided special facilities for the treatment and care of people infected with the virus, and 25 vehicle-based examination centers in all emirates of the country, which It has witnessed a great turnout since the beginning of the pandemic, as the number of beneficiaries reached five million and 953 thousand and 985 people.

She indicated that a hotline was provided via “WhatsApp” to respond to questions and inquiries related to the Corona virus for all individuals, in addition to the service of delivering medicines to patients’ homes, as 138,237 prescriptions were delivered to patients’ homes.
