Russian Consul General in New York Sergei Ovsyannikov said this in a comment to TASS.

“It is necessary to distinguish between voting in the elections to the State Duma and in the presidential elections.

Presidential elections are always of greater interest.

Usually up to 2,000 - 1,500 people take part, ”he said.

According to the diplomat, the election commission in the New York Consulate General was formed on time, the employees are aware of their responsibilities.

The plot on the territory of the Consulate General will be open from 08:00 to 20:00 on September 19.

Ella Pamfilova, chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia, said earlier that more than 2.4 thousand people in six countries were able to vote early in the elections to the State Duma.
