Labor immigrants can submit their applications when they live in their country of residence, and they can be obtained as soon as they enter Russia.
This policy will take effect from January 1, 2022 local time.
According to TASS, the policy will allow foreign labor immigrants to automatically submit an application to the Russian pension fund to open a personal account through the Russian state and municipal service portal after entering Russia.
Therefore, foreign immigrants and stateless persons will be able to obtain personal insurance numbers immediately after entering the borders of Russia, which will help them start labor activities in Russia faster and will also help reduce illegal employment, the Secretariat explained.
According to sources, the policy was formulated under the framework of the implementation of the concept of the Russian Federation’s national immigration policy from 2019 to 2025.
Its adoption will optimize the procedures for labor immigrants to obtain personal insurance numbers, thereby simplifying the procedures for employment in Russia.
Russian President’s Press Secretary Peskov said in response to reporters that the shortage of labor immigration in Russia is urgent, the issue is complex and the government is discussing it, but the government has not yet made any decision to change the immigration rules for labor immigration.
