A new emergency hospital will be built in Västerås.
Nearly 200 new care places
The new hospital is planned for, among other things, surgery, X-rays, emergency rooms, maternity wards and intensive care, and 180 care places are planned.
- I am very positive about the emergency hospital being built.
The current building is from the 1960s, so we really need modern premises now, says Liselott Sjöqvist.
The start of construction is planned for 2022. The construction of the hospital is estimated to take about eight years from the start of construction.
The budget for buildings and equipment is SEK 6.8 billion.
Brand new hospital in Sala
The hospital in Sala is being built completely new and construction is in full swing.
Occupancy is estimated for next year, ie 2022.
The new hospital will include a medicine clinic, child clinic, adult psychiatry clinic, child and adolescent psychiatry, eye clinic and public dental care.
- When the emergency hospital was removed from Sala, the premises became far too large.
Therefore, it feels good with new adapted premises, says Liselott Sjöqvist.
The new hospital in Sala is estimated to cost SEK 566 million.
In Köping, the X-ray clinic was rebuilt and the hospital received another computed tomography machine.
