Vivi-Ann Nilsson, chair of the election committee in Rydaholm parish, believes that the relatively large turnout is due to the fact that it is a small town where everyone knows those who are on the lists for the church election.

- We fight and protect our church.

We are very active and work for the Christian message, she says.

Lars Lejon, chairman of the church council in Rydaholm parish agrees.

- We on the list are visible in society.

Many of us are not only active in the Church, but also in many different associations.

Of course, we encourage people we meet to go and vote.

Uncertain church election during pandemic

On September 19, it is time for church elections again, but it is uncertain whether there will be as many who will vote in Rydaholm's parish this time.

- It may be that we do not get the same turnout as last time now during the pandemic, but my hope is of course that we get a high turnout, says Lars Lejon.

- The pandemic and the restrictions may mean that people do not dare to go out, but we will do everything to make it work, says Vivi-Ann Nilsson.

Do you think that turnout will be the same?

- Yes, I'm positive, I think so.

It might get bigger.
