China News Service, September 6th. According to the US "World Journal" report, in Southern California nowadays, not only is it hard to find a good house, but it is also not easy to renovate after buying a house.

A Chinese homeowner said that when his house was half-renovated, the workers suddenly ran away. Seeing that the rental date was approaching, they had to get three or five friends to decorate themselves.

The phenomenon of half of the workers running off during the renovation is not an exception.

It is not uncommon for the decoration workers to take over several jobs at the same time, causing repeated delays in the construction period. The underlying reason is the imbalance between supply and demand in the decoration industry.

Ms. Zhang, a resident of Southern California, took advantage of low loan interest rates and bought a house in Ontario to rent out in June this year.

She found a tenant in mid-July and signed an agreement, which is scheduled to be officially rented out on September 1.

Ms. Zhang hired a Chinese decorator, and the two parties agreed to complete the renovation before September 1.

Ms. Zhang said that at first, the decorator did a good job, but one day he was halfway through at noon and suddenly said he was leaving.

Ms. Zhang thought he was going to have lunch, but she didn't expect to wait until the afternoon to see him return.

Ms. Zhang called him but no one answered, and she gave up halfway.

Ms. Zhang said that in previous conversations with this worker, she learned that he had taken other projects recently. Therefore, it is estimated that because other projects are profitable, she gave up the renovation work of her home, but it is difficult to explain clearly, so she simply went missing.

Ms. Zhang said that because the decoration team in Southern California is very strong, it is basically impossible to find a new person to take over temporarily.

The delay in renting a house for one day is the loss of bank loans and rent.

In order to complete the decoration on schedule, Ms. Zhang asked three or five friends to do the decoration by herself.

However, the hot weather and the novices get half the result with half the effort.

They rely on online videos to learn while doing things, including painting walls, sawing wood, etc., and finally they make a difference, which is not easy.

Ms. Tan, another resident of Southern California, also encountered similar problems when decorating her new house.

She hired a Hispanic decorator at the time. At the beginning, the two parties agreed to complete the renovation in about two months at a cost of about 30,000 US dollars.

Unexpectedly, after the start of construction, the decoration efficiency was ridiculously low. The decoration workers only came one or two days a week, and each decoration lasted less than eight hours.

The other party said that there are other projects busy, so the progress is slow.

In this way, the renovation was delayed for more than four months, and the wages were more than 20,000 to 30,000 US dollars higher than previously expected.

When the renovation of the project is halfway, the workers go to other places to work. Either the homeowner cannot find the workers, or the project is delayed for several months.

This situation has always existed.

It's just that it's particularly common recently.

"Zaia Construction" investor Zaia Jie said that the main reason for this phenomenon is that fewer people in the decoration industry live more.

Some projects are half done, and the decorators “shift positions” in order to offer more expensive renovation projects.

Although the salary of decoration workers has increased from 180 to 190 US dollars a day to 210 to 220 US dollars a day, many people still switch to other higher-income industries, such as packaging, logistics, etc., resulting in labor in this industry. Even more lacking.

Zaia explained that the overall mobility of workers in the decoration industry in the United States is high. Most of the construction workers take over jobs in the form of small contracts. The relationship between workers and contractors is loose, unlike general companies that have strict management of contract signings.
