Clermont scrum-half Morgan Parra set a new Top 14 record by scoring a 42nd consecutive kick (penalties and conversions) on Sunday in Lyon on Matchday 1.

The previous record was held by a former player of the Auvergne club, the Australian Brock James, who had stacked 41 in a row during the 2008/2009 season.

Parra, former N.9 of the XV of France (71 selections from 2008 to 2019), overtook his former partner by achieving a fourth penalty after having also transformed the try of the Irishman JJ Hanrahan.

The 2011 vice-world champion then left the field, replaced in the 50th minute by Sébastien Bézy.
