The death of the director of the office of the Syrian President, at the age of 85

On Saturday evening, Muhammad Dib Daaboul, director of the office of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, died in the city of Deir Atiyah, north of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Sources close to Da'boul's family told German News Agency: "Muhammad Deeb Daboul, who was 85 years old, died on Saturday evening in a Damascus hospital due to a terminal illness, and his body will be buried today, Sunday, in the city of Deir Atiyah, 90 km north of the Syrian capital."

The sources added that Daaboul spent more than forty years as director of the office of the Syrian president, half of which was director of the office of the late Syrian president Hafez, and the other half as director of the office of President Bashar al-Assad, and he retired from work in the middle of this year.

The sources pointed out that President Bashar al-Assad awarded Daaboul at the end of last May, the Order of Merit of the Excellent Class, in appreciation of his outstanding services in the field of administration and public service.

It is known that Daaboul, who is called Abu Salim, had a special status for Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, as well as President Bashar al-Assad, who is the keeper of the secrets of the Syrian presidential palace.
