With our correspondent in Brussels,

A minute of silence for the victims of the floods.

Everyone here knows a loved one who has been touched.

Global warming is no longer a theory, but has become very concrete in the lives of citizens after the disaster in July.

"It's not normal that we had so much water"

“

Everyone realizes that it is not normal that we had so much water.

Even climatologists did not realize it because otherwise we would have acted much sooner,

worries a first protester.

It is mainly because of global warming that we come to this.

"

“

My daughter was flooded,

” recounts a second participant, while a demonstrator explains: “

In fact, we were there when there was the flooding and we all mobilized to welcome in the hall where we lived. flood survivors.

It moved us all a lot and that's why we're here today.

"

Among the demonstrators, the former vice-president of the IPCC, the group of experts on climate change, Jean-Pascal van Ypersele.

He repeats his warnings once again: “

CO2 stays between 100 and

1,000 years in the atmosphere.

In any case, part of the CO2 that we emit.

And so, this is really a long term problem that we have to face.

 "

The organizers hope to mobilize more citizens and meet every Sunday in September for a new demonstration.
